Looking Back at 2025 in Bucerias and a Sneak Peek at What 2026 Has in Store

Adios 2025!

A Year of Challenges, Community, and Growth

As we wrap up 2025 and step into 2026, we wanted to take a moment to pause, reflect, and share a recap of the year that was.

2025 was a very busy year. For those of you who’ve been following along on the channel, you know we saw a lot unfold here in Bucerías—unexpected challenges, heartfelt goodbyes, and exciting new beginnings. While not everything was easy, we’re heading into 2026 feeling grateful, grounded, and genuinely excited for what’s ahead.

1. The Big Unexpected Challenge of 2025

The Inmueble Asegurado Situation

We have to start with the biggest curveball of the year: the inmueble asegurado situation.

This issue affected many homeowners in the Terralta neighborhoods of Bucerías and understandably caused a lot of concern. In short, properties were temporarily flagged by authorities while documentation and legal matters were reviewed. It was a confusing and stressful experience for many families.

Throughout this process, we attended countless meetings, listened to lawyers, spoke with neighbors, and shared information as it became available. Once we understood what the process actually involved, Daniela and I made the decision to stay calm and see it through properly, rather than panic or jump into solution we didn't fully understand.

Between ourselves, friends, and family, we helped clear four homes from the inmueble asegurado list. That meant long days at the women’s center, waiting hours to sign documents and often into the evening, with the kids right there alongside us.

There was a quote that kept coming to mind throughout the process.

The bureaucracy is expanding to meet the needs of the expanding bureaucracy. — Oscar Wilde

Celebratory selfie at the Fiscalia in Tepic, Nayarit!

In one case, we even needed to travel to Tepic to complete paperwork. Thankfully, the new highway made the drive smooth and efficient, we got in, got out, and returned to Bucerías with everything finalized.

What did we learn?

While the situation was alarming at first, patience, endurance, and clear information made all the difference. We also met neighbors and community leaders who truly stepped up, reminding us that even difficult moments can strengthen a community.

Most importantly, it reinforced something we believe strongly in: don’t panic, don’t spiral, and never make decisions from fear.

2. Celebrating Bucerias

The Bucerías Guide & Golden Zone Video

Another project we’re especially proud of in 2025 was the creation of the Bucerías Guide, paired with the launch of a video highlighting the Golden Zone of Bucerías.

THE BUCERIAS GUIDE!
THE BUCERIAS GUIDE!

This was a project we worked on quietly behind the scenes starting in early 2025, and it finally came together with the release of the video in November 2025. The response was incredibly positive, and we received a lot of great feedback—especially on the intro, where we had a little fun portraying snowbirds traveling to Mexico as a kind of migratory species.

Beyond showcasing the area itself, one of the best parts of this project was hearing from local legends who help make Bucerías what it is. We got to spend time with familiar faces like Linda from Tacos Linda, the Hatman (not Batman), and many others who give the town its personality and soul.

If you’re planning a visit—or just want a deeper look at life here—you can download the Bucerías Guide, which brings together local tips, neighborhood insights, and highlights from the Golden Zone and beyond.

Stay tuned to see what the next installment in this series will be next season.

3. Saying Goodbye to an Old Friend

The Bucerias Church

In April, Bucerías said goodbye to one of its most iconic landmarks—the town church.

Due to serious structural issues, the building was deemed unsafe and had to be demolished. While there are plans to build a new church in its place, construction hasn’t yet begun. We’ve heard plenty of rumors, but nothing concrete enough to share just yet.

When there’s real news, we’ll pass it along.

For now, let’s pray for progress in 2026.

4. Saying Hello to New Friends

New Homes in the BeachLife Portfolio

On the business front, 2025 brought exciting growth. We welcomed four new properties into our vacation rental portfolio, each with its own personality and new fans.

Outdoor patio with wooden furniture, plants, and a sofa with "BEACH" pillow. A TV is mounted on the wall. Sunny, relaxed setting.

Casa Vista Belcara is a beautifully furnished, modern three-bedroom home located in Nuevo Vallarta. It’s a fantastic option for families, couples, or anyone looking to be close to everything Nuevo Vallarta has to offer—wide beaches, shopping, golf courses, and great dining—while still being close enough to Bucerías to enjoy everything that town has to offer as well.

Modern living room with balcony views, Netflix on wood-paneled TV, two chairs at a small table, ceiling fan, and magazines on a coffee table.

A modern one-bedroom condo in the heart of Bucerías’ Golden Zone, located in the popular Life Building. Just one block from the beach, it features fantastic amenities including a large heated community pool and a well-equipped gym.

Availability is open for 2026—and guests absolutely love staying here.

Modern pink villa with two floors, tropical plants, and a pool. Glass doors open to stylish interiors. Bright, sunny day, relaxed vibe.

Four individual tiny homes located on the beachside of the highway in the Golden Zone. These aren’t traditional condos—instead, they’re set within a lush garden environment with a community pool. They’re stylish, unique, and already a fan favorite. Lots of availability in 2026!

Covered patio with surfboards, dining table, and hanging plants. Concrete counter, grill, and brick walls. "BeachLife Properties" text visible.

Moving to the east side of Bucerías, this three-bedroom home is filled with personality. Decorated with surfboards shaped by the owners themselves, Casa de Las Tablas offers an open-air living experience with neighborhood views and even a peek of the ocean. It’s immersive, local, and full of soul. Book this home today!

5. A Sneak Peek at 2026 👀

One of our biggest accomplishments of 2025 was Daniela officially becoming a member of AMPI—which means she’s now a fully accredited real estate agent.

(Cue crowd applause 🎉)

Even more exciting, we’re launching our first official listing:

Casa Pulpo, a beautiful 4 bedroom modern home in the neighboring town of La Cruz de Huanacaxtle.

📅 Listing launch: January 5, 2026

If you’re interested in Casa Pulpo, feel free to reach out:

We’ve also already filmed home makeover videos with Sus (featured earlier in 2025), with more exciting content coming as we see what 2026 has in store.

Thank You for an Incredible Year
