Sunshine Tomorrow: A Sunny Outlook on the Future
Dear Moving To Mexico Community,
As the sun sets on 2023, a year filled with both challenges and triumphs, we can't help but feel a deep sense of gratitude for the support and camaraderie you've shown us. As we embark on this journey together, we want to take a moment to reflect on the past year and share our hopes for the adventures that lie ahead in 2024.
The closing chapter of 2023 brought us immense joy as we welcomed our newest addition, little Max, into the world on November 5th. The laughter and excitement shared by big sister Emma and our extended family during Thanksgiving and Christmas made these moments truly special. Despite the occasional sleepless nights, Max has become a source of boundless happiness, making our family stronger and more complete. We are very blessed!
Navigating Challenges: A Year of Resilience
Looking back, 2023 presented its fair share of challenges, from enduring Hurricane Lydia, dealing with a pregnancy accompanied by a twisted ankle, to facing the departure of our long-time partner, Joel, in March.
Anticipating this change, I began creating content independently, a decision that proved pivotal. One such moment was when Bruce and Evelyn Donogh, our renters at Casa Cantina, suggested a video featuring the Refuge of Hope organization.
Embracing this opportunity, I poured my heart into creating a video that showcased the incredible work of Refuge of Hope, providing local children with meals, education, and a place to learn about God's love. The response was overwhelming, with the video amassing over 300K views on YouTube. The outpouring of support and donations from viewers demonstrated the impact we can have on our community when we come together.
Changing Lives Through Video
In addition to the success with Refuge of Hope, I continued to create impactful videos highlighting stories from locals like Jason, Pablo, and fellow YouTubers Mark and Kathleen. The video featuring Casa De La Paz, a retirement home for seniors in need, may not have gone viral, but it found the right audience, leading to a generous donation that secured funding for the project which we are very happy to see!
The growth of our channel in 2023, with views and subscribers more than doubling, fills me with pride and gratitude for the community we've built. Here's to doubling that in 2024!

Connecting In-Person: Join Us for Meetups in Bucerías!
While the virtual world has allowed us to share our journey with you, we've often received heartfelt invitations for dinner or coffee that, unfortunately, we couldn't always accommodate. Recognizing the desire for more direct connections, Daniela and I are thrilled to announce our in-person meetups during the high season.
Every Saturday or Sunday, you'll find us at our booth in front of Fruteria Kenia, eager to meet and connect with our incredible community. This is an opportunity for us to chat, share stories, and answer any burning questions you may have about life in Bucerías.
